Social Events at the IEPC09 in Ann Arbor

Social Events at the IEPC09 will include a Welcoming Reception on Sunday, September 20th at the Biomedical Science Research Building, an Awards’ Dinner on Tuesday, September 22nd at The Michigan League, Campus Tours on Wednesday, September 23rd, and the Gala Dinner on Thursday, September 24th at the Henry Ford Museum. Onsite registration will be available at Palmer Commons. Sunday, September 20th
Welcoming Reception and Onsite Registration

The Welcoming Reception will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Biomedical Science Research Building, which is across the street from Palmer Commons. Onsite registration (a late fee will apply) and check in for conference materials will be open on Sunday at Palmer Commons from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. The Welcoming Reception will give participants the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and hearty hors d’oeuvres with colleagues old and new before the IEPC09 starts on Monday morning in the Auditorium of the Rackham Building.

Tuesday, September 22nd
Awards’ Banquet

On Tuesday, September 22nd, we will honor authors with the highest ranked papers at an awards’ dinner at the historic Michigan League at 7:00 p.m. We look forward to entertainment by Amazin’ Blue, the oldest existing inclusive mixed-voice a cappella ensemble affiliated with the University of Michigan.

Wednesday, September 23rd
Campus Tours

Tentatively planned at this time are tours of the Plasmadynamics and Electric Propulsion Laboratory, the Lurie Nanofabrication Laboratory, the Space Physics Research Laboratory, and Michigan Stadium – home of the Michigan Wolverines (football). Stay tuned for further developments!

Thursday, September 24th
Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner will be held from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. at the Henry Ford Museum, which is located in Dearborn, Michigan. With a rich and diverse offering of exhibits, the Henry Ford is one of the largest collections of its kind ever assembled. The Henry Ford Museum showcases the people and ideas that have fired our imaginations and changed our lives. It is the history destination that brings the American experience to life. Buses will depart from Ann Arbor at 6:00 p.m. and return to Ann Arbor at ~11:30 p.m.
